Membership

The green is open for members from about the third week in April until the end of September, and is available for play at any time provided there are no booked sessions, such as league games, regular 'roll-up' sessions, external booked fixtures, such as County competitions or booked internal or individual competition fixtures.

The annual subscription for members is £80 in 2024 - you can play as often as you wish, including roll-ups, league matches or competitions, and no other charges such as match tax will apply.

There are three organized ‘roll-up’ sessions from 2-4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, which include a break for refreshments at around 3pm. Anyone can attend, and no booking is required, although players are asked to arrive by 1.45pm so that playing rinks can be organised for a prompt 2pm start. Non-members or prospective members are welcome.

A charge of £3 will appy for each session, but anyone attending for the first time can have 3 sessions free of charge. A selection of bowls is available to borrow - only flat-soled shoes are required.

Apart from the popular mid-week roll-up sessions, the club plays in four leagues, all with mixed gender teams.
There are also internal competitions, including two memorial competitions, the Sue Hallam Trophy and the Peter Ward Trophy. For further details of the leagues and competitions, see the ‘Competitions’ section of the menu.
